BUILD PROJECT MANAGER (IRE)

REPORTS TO:                   Senior Project Manager

JOB LOCATION:               Client Office Dublin and Naas Head Office, Ireland

JOB SCOPE:                  

The Build Manager is responsible for the co-ordination of a project team to deliver project[s] on time, within budget and to quality standards. The Build Manager is a client facing manager with responsibility for overall project program management.

NEEDS TO HAVE:

    • Degree in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience and Project Management Accreditation desirable
    • At least 3 years in a similar
    • Strong understanding of project methodology
    • Excellent oral and written communications
    • Strong supervisory and coaching skills
    • Strong organisational ability with experience in MS Project or similar project tools
    • Proven people skills in delivery of project KPI’s and experience in customer facing role

NEEDS TO DO:

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

    • The effective leadership and management of project team[s], including the development of team[s] and individuals in partnership with HR and other departments
    • Ensure project team has the necessary safety training/inductions to undertake site work and or inform safety/technical team to address
    • Hiring of resource where appropriate and the implementation of the performance management system to direct reports
    • Assisting and supporting the technical team in identifying the training needs of personnel

OPERATIONAL

    • Implementation of relevant approved processes, procedures, health and safety and technical standards and ensure their consistency with company policy
    • Management of the relevant sub-contractors, monitor performance in terms of time, cost, quality and health and safety
    • Ensure familiarity of client specifications and update and audit sites accordingly
    • Oversee snagging process and manage all corrective actions prior to client handover
    • Responsible for forecasting materials usage for the warehouse team
    • Agree program of works with the client and forecast resources accordingly
    • Undertake all necessary actions and support to facilitate achievement of delivery team targets in terms of time [programme], cost and quality

HEALTH AND SAFETY

    • Ensure all project activities/project team are fully compliant with the Company Safety Management System and relevant statutory regulations
    • Preparation of all necessary documentation e.g. H&S Plan, Site Survey checklist, Materials List (if applicable), Site Completion Pack (if applicable)
    • Ensure that sub-contractors have received appropriate safety training
    • Ensure that project team are wearing the correct and specified personal protective equipment [PPE]
    • Review safety inspections for sites and liaise with the Safety Officer to ensure that any recurring problems are rectified by the Crew Leaders

ENVIRONMENT

    • Ensure all project activities/project team are fully compliant with all the requirements of the Environmental Management System
    • Responsible for ensuring all works are carried out in compliance with company’s environmental standard i.e. site waste disposal, materials used – refer to SHEQ-1003 and SHEQ-1022 for listing of Environmental Aspects and Hazardous substances used in the company

CLIENT MANAGEMENT

    • Build and maintain overall client relationship
    • Be proactive in building relationships with the overall client project team

COMMERCIAL AWARENESS

    • Manage all aspects of the project commercials including compiling weekly P&L and reporting to the Project Board
    • Quarterly project revenue forecasting
    • Vetting and management of site specific client quotations compiled by project managers
    • Evaluation and Certification of all relevant supplier and sub-contractor invoices
    • Ensure tracking and agreement of all out of scope works
    • Build client relationship to the extent that the company would always be considered for future business opportunities and would be seen as a preferred service provider

COMMUNICATION

    • Attend project/programme/client meetings, as required, to ensure effective communication across the project

JOB SCOPE:                  

To install, test and commission transmission/microwave equipment for clients/vendors/operators.

NEEDS TO HAVE:

    • Min 3 yrs experience in a similar role
    • FETAC Level 6 in a technical discipline or equivalent working experience
    • Fluency in English Language (written and verbal)
    • Safe Pass card and relevant accreditation
    • Full Drivers Licence
    • Climbing certificate is essential

JOB SCOPE:                  

The primary role of the Project Co-ordinator is to support project activities, ensuring that key milestones are achieved in a timely manner and to a high quality standard. This role forms an integral part of the project/s success

NEEDS TO HAVE:

    • Experience in a project management/office environment advantageous
    • Proven proficiency in IT skills- specifically MS Excel; experience with project tracking tools an advantage
    • Fluent written and spoken English
    • Good technical aptitude

NEEDS TO DO:

    • Adhere to communicated procedures to apply for access into various 3rd party sites. All information must be tracked on a daily basis and communicated to site employees and project managers
    • Responsible for preparation of site specific health and safety documentation for crew leaders
    • Responsible for preparation of site specific documentation for the Client to a very high standard within predefined deadlines
    • Track client specific information on a daily basis, including data on client accounts, sub-contractor details, status of job/sites etc
    • Record, analyse and produce Client KPI reports as required and present at project meetings
    • Work as the interface for the project team (between Client, Project Managers & Site Workers) and channel and coordinate the flow of information within the team

To install, test and commission site equipment for clients/vendors/operators and ensure site construction works are completed to client specification and in accordance with SHEQ standards

NEEDS TO HAVE:

    • Previous relevant rigging experience in mobile telecoms essential
    • Experience on microwave transmission projects and vendors essential
    • Experience on RAN rollouts involving multiple vendors and technologies essential
    • All relevant H&S accreditation and certification (Safe Pass, RTE, ESB, Garda Clearance, Climbing etc)
    • Full Drivers Licence

    • Promptly report any faults or irregularities to the Site Supervisor / Crew Leader
    • Ensure that you are compliant with instructions regarding PPE, use of safety equipment and correct usage of tools and equipment and follow safe working practices and site security protocols
    • Report any damage to company vehicles, tools or equipment to Site Supervisor / Crew Leader
    • Escalate any breaches of H&S to the Project Manager
    • Assist site supervisor in the management and delegation of tasks for the job

    • Technical Appreciation – a background in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical/Telecoms discipline

To operate and manage individual crews and ensure that the site construction is done to client specification and in accordance with SHEQ standards

NEEDS TO HAVE:

    • Min 3 years’ experience in a similar role
    • All relevant H&S accreditation and certification (Safe Pass, RTE, ESB, Garda Clearance etc)
    • Full Drivers Licence
    • Experience in managing teams in a fast paced and process driven environment
    • IT proficiency- MS Office

NEEDS TO DO:

    • Responsible for site meetings and instructing crew on the daily tasks and to highlight potential hazards and issues on the site/s
    • Monitor employee timekeeping and report any issues to your project manager as per company policy
    • Responsible for ensuring that all relevant site documentation and client paperwork is completed accurately and as per client SLA
    • Ensure that you and your crew adhere to best practise method of work to ensure safe and efficient completion of works
    • Responsible for completing your daily jobs on Infratrack and that all steps in the relevant workflow are completed. If your daily task hasn’t been set up on Infratrack notify your project manager immediately
    • Ensure that site is correctly cordoned off and all safety protocols adhered to
    • Ensure a stocked first aid kit is kept on site at all times and KTL van is equipped with fire extinguisher. Record and report all accidents and near misses/good catches and submit to PM and H&S Manager in a timely fashion
    • Inspect materials (either client supplied or purchased for purpose of the site construction) to ensure that all materials are to specification and in good order and to promptly report any faults or irregularities to your project manager
    • Responsible for ensuring that excess materials are returned safely to the yard as per policy. Communicate any materials management issues with your project manager i.e. too much/not enough materials being called off, spares management
    • Ensure that all crew are compliant with instructions regarding PPE, use of safety equipment and correct usage of tools and equipment and follow safe working practices and site security protocols
    • Have an updated Health and Safety Plan available on site at all times and where additional hazards identified to draw up a risk assessment is completed and where necessary a method statement to cover relevant activity
    • Ensure that you and all crew members are fully complaint with all aspects of the company driving policy
    • Report any damage to company vehicles, tools or equipment to Plant Manager
    • Responsible for the day to day implementation of the SHEQ systems on all KTL sites
    • Be aware of and monitor implementation of the Company’s Safety Statement and relevant legislative regulations
    • Escalate any breaches of H&S outside of Crew Leaders remit to the Project Manager

The Trainee Electrical Technician will be responsible for electrical upgrades on new and existing telecoms equipment. Must be DC competent. This role would suit a 4th year apprentice or someone recently qualified

NEEDS TO HAVE:

    • Electricians Qualification (FETAC or equivalent)
    • Significant knowledge of AC and DC wiring and terminations, Earthing, Bonding and Lightning Protection, Alarms wiring
    • PC skills desirable
