A little over two weeks into the UK’s national lockdown from March 2020, KTL were approached by Vodafone to deliver an urgent connection in Coventry. This would be KTL’s first ‘BAU’ job for Vodafone under the Civils & Cable Fibre Services framework contract.
The urgent works were to undertake civils construction works, cable installation, splicing & testing in Coventry City Centre.
The works completed by KTL would enable a 5G standalone trial for Coventry University.
KTL’s team overcame difficulties with last minute design changes, restricted access, materials, supplies & workforce during lockdown.
Whilst ensuring full compliance to the lockdown restrictions and most importantly the health & safety of KTL’s workforce, the team pulled together and successfully completed the works to enable the 5G trial to go ahead.
Brendan McCauley MCIOB, General Manager (Utilities) received the following positive feedback for the team and the work done.
