National Safe Digging Week is back! Its aim is to ensure everyone is aware of the pipes and cables below the ground – and the dangers of striking them.

This year’s National Safe Digging Week has moved to earlier in the year from September to start today on Monday 4 July 2022.

This move is to reflect it being the UK’s busiest and most dangerous period for digging.

Whatever the digging job – whether you’re carrying out a bit of home improvement, just planting a tree or extending your home – always ‘search before you dig.’

David Bromley-Walsh PGCert, Head of SHEQ (Telecoms), #KTL said, “At KTL, we understand the dangers of failing to plan and manage excavation work and the importance of following HSG47.”

“With the amount of streetworks undertaken across mobile and fixed line telecommunications on the rise, it has never been more important to ensure safe working practices are being adhered to.”

“By operating a fair and just culture across the business, we encourage both our employees and partner companies to report any issues in from site and combine this with regular communications - toolbox talks and bulletins so that we can ensure that the teams’ knowledge is up to date.”

“With support from experienced Managers, Field Supervisors, PICWS and the SHEQ team we are keeping safety and quality at the forefront of everyone’s mind.”
