Aaron Healy and Dylan Healy are completing an apprenticeship in Telecommunications and Data Network Engineering over 24 months with KTL, which incorporates both on-the-job elements and off-the-job class and practical laboratories in TU Tallaght, Dublin. The qualification upon completion is a Higher Certificate in Engineering in Telecommunications and Data Network Engineering (Level 6).

We spoke to Philip Hanna, Project Manager and KTL Apprenticeship mentor about his role and also spoke to Aaron and Dylan about their experience on the programme over the last 12 months.

Philip Hanna, “There is a need for training technicians in the telecommunications industry in Ireland.

Dylan Healy, Apprentice Telecommunications Engineer, “I am involved in all aspects of field work on telecoms sites. What I enjoy most is the tower climbs. The views are stunning from up to on average 50-metres height!”.
