On World Menopause Day the International Menopause Society (IMS) explain:


“World Menopause Day is held every year on the 18th of October. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of the menopause and the support options available for improving health and wellbeing”.


Menopause begins in the late 40s or early 50s for most women and it usually lasts for a few years.

During this time, at least two-thirds of women experience symptoms of menopause.


KTL is committed to providing an inclusive working environment for all employees throughout all stages of their working lives.


KTL’s period and menopause policy sets out how to support employees and managers to ensure they are comfortable discussing the topic, so employees who may be experiencing problematic periods or menopausal symptoms get the support they need.


KTL provides a range of supports and/or adjustments, to help people experiencing symptoms, here is a small example:

  • Flexible working options i.e., working hours and/or working arrangements.

  • All KTL employees have 24/7 access to an Employee Assistance Programme - a confidential counselling service that provides support to employees and families.
