#KTL densifies #5G coverage for major UK telecoms client at #Creamfields 2022.
Creamfields – a flagship UK festival taking place in the fields of Daresbury, Cheshire August 25th – 28th, the UK Bank Holiday weekend. It is set to attract crowds of over 70,000 over the four-day festival. This year is the massive 25th anniversary edition and is set to be the biggest to date.
This electronic dance festival is renowned for attracting the biggest names in the business and as well as its huge production design and ambitious staging, each year features over 300 artists performing across 30 stages throughout the weekend.
Barry Neary, Project Director KTL said, “KTL installed an E-Band 80 GHz high-capacity microwave link to densify the network, boost network coverage and capacity for this awarding winning sell-out dance festival.”
Giffgaff conducted a nationwide survey of over 2000 people to find out how they use their mobiles while at a festival.
Interestingly - 62% of all respondents said that their mobile phones improve the festival experience, with 59% using them for at least three hours, every day.
The survey showed that at music festivals, respondents said they use their phones in the following ways:
- 87% communicate with other people at the festival
- 72% take photos or videos
- 47% browse social media
- 27% use the festival’s official app
- 25% browse news websites
- 9% check emails
Therefore, top quality phone coverage for a big crowd of festivalgoers is important.
